5 Signs You Need A Wheel Alignment

One thing that’s often overlooked is Wheel Alignment. But how do you know when your wheels need to be aligned? Here are some common signs to watch out for!

1. Your Car Pulls to One Side

One of the most obvious signs that you need a Wheel Alignment is if your car pulls to one side when you’re driving. If you’re on a straight, flat road and you notice the steering wheel pulling left or right without you turning it, your wheels may be out of alignment. This can make your car harder to control and unsafe to drive.

2. Uneven Tire Wear

Check your Tires for signs of uneven wear. If the tread on one side of your Tires is wearing out faster than the other, it could be because your wheels are not aligned properly. Regular Tire Rotations can help, but if the problem continues, an Alignment is needed.

3. Steering Wheel Isn’t Centered

When you’re driving straight, your steering wheel should be centered. If you notice that the wheel is crooked or off-center while the car is going straight, it’s a strong indication that your wheels are misaligned.

4. Vibrations in the Steering Wheel

If you feel vibrations in the Steering Wheel, especially when driving at higher speeds, it could mean your wheels are out of Alignment. This happens when the tires aren’t hitting the road evenly, which can cause your steering wheel to shake.

5. Tires Squeal

When you hear your tires squealing, it might be because the tires are struggling to grip the road properly due to poor Alignment. While this could be caused by other issues, it’s often a sign that an Alignment is needed.

Most experts recommend checking your Wheel Alignment every 6,000 to 12,000 miles, or at least once a year. However, if you hit a big pothole, curb, or are in an accident, you should have your Alignment checked right away, even if you’re under that mileage.

If your car is pulling to one side, your Tires are wearing unevenly, or your steering Wheel feels off, you may need a wheel alignment. Keeping your Wheels Aligned helps your car run smoothly, saves on tire wear, and makes driving safer. If you notice any of these signs, it’s a good idea to get your Alignment checked by one of our professionals here at Glenwood Foreign Car!
